Peter van Dam
Dr. Peter van Dam's Details
Dr. Peter van Dam is interested in the history of civil society particularly in Germany and the Netherlands, in the societal role of religion in Western Europe since the French Revolution and in the relationship between the national and the transnational in writing history. Since 2011 he has engaged on research on the Fair Trade movement. The relationship between civil society and the market, the manifest influence of globalisation on society and new forms of civic engagement are the focal points of this project. The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded this project with a veni-research grant in 2012.
