Title: Dritte Welt Laeden. Einordnung und Ueberpruefung eines entwicklungspolitischen Bildungsmodells.
Summary:

The study evaluates the effectiveness of 'World Shops' in four areas: How much turnover (and thus 'Fair Trade' jobs) and such a shop support? How much surplus can it generate (to support other developmental work? How effective is it in raising the awareness of the customers who come to shop, and among the group that runs it. The study did interviews with customers and volunteers in two shops and found that - considering the 'open method' of a shop (one can walk out!) the is a modest correlation. I.e. a shop can act as a first step for people to become interested/involved in global trade justice. And at the same time a shop is supporting a number of people overseas, too.
