The interdisciplinary, academic Journal of Fair Trade Studies is the first journal of its kind to be published in the United States. Along with the Fair Trade Institute, it aims to foster the scholarly treatment of fair trade.

The  Journal of Fair Trade Studies (JFTS) is an academic, peer-reviewed journal published by The Victoria Press.  Founded during the summer of 2008, the journal is guided by a Special Consultant along with an internationally diverse Editorial Board and Advisory Council. These bodies are composed of internationally-recognized scholars, researchers, producers, organization heads, entrepreneurs and activists in fair trade and closely related areas of study.

The mission of the journal is three-fold:

  • to foster the scholarly treatment of fair trade,
  • to represent the voices of fair trade producers, leaders and organizations around the world, and
  • to effect policy change.

Issues of the Journal of Fair Trade Studies will be released twice annually during the months of April and October.

Visit the website of the Journal of Fair Trade Studies for further information.
